EDUCATION – We provide youth with alternatives to the public-school education process. Our education component provides youth with a GED/HSE curriculum that allows youth to study at their own pace with one-on-one tutoring. BCAD provides a safe relaxed setting where youth can leave their differences at the door and focus on their education. We walk students through every step needed to accomplish this goal. BCAD provides transportation to and from exam appointments when needed. When helping our youth achieve their GED/HSE, not only are they achieving a base of education but also achieving a sense of accomplishment and self-worth. WORK SKILLS TRAINING – Using our community resources we help and encourage youth to pursue on-the-job skills training. Our partnerships with Idaho Department of Labor and Nampa Housing Authority allows our youth to get the skills they need to become successful and productive members of the community. We have helped and help many youths’ complete community service hours and Drug Court Service projects ordered by the Canyon County Juvenile Courts and Probation. LEAD – We provide youth with mentoring to help navigate and educate our youth through the up and downs they face while on their journey to adulthood. We find this mentoring most effective by providing recreational activities. Activities include onsite, Billiards, Recording Studio, Ping Pong, Computer Lab, and Game Console. We also provide offsite field trips such as, lunches Downtown Boise, Theaters, Arcades, and local site seeing. Our target population is mostly made up of youth from low income and/or broken homes who otherwise would not be able to participate in these kinds of activities if BCAD were not operating.
