To fulfill its mission, NAMI UV will: A. Support NAMI Idaho in developing statewide positions relating to mental illness and advocate for such positions at the state and local level. B. Assist in the coordination of advocacy efforts on local, state, and federal issues. C. Report on local issues and needs to the NAMI Idaho Board. D. Provide education relating to mental illness to individuals and families in the community, as well as to professionals and the public. E. Provide local information and referral services. F. Promote the understanding of mental illness as a neurobiological disease through public education and community involvement and thereby assist in decreasing the stigma related to mental illness. G. Advocate for the timely and effective delivery of services for Idaho residents affected by mental illness. H. Promote the process of recovery and the integration of persons living with mental illness into the community and into appropriate employment and/or community service placements. I. Conduct fund raising activities in support of the above activities.
