The Idaho Community Health Workers Association (ICHWA) is Idaho’s statewide association for Community Health Workers (CHWs), CHW Allies/Advocates, and External Supporters. Founded in 2020, ICHWA’s mission is to advocate for Idaho's community health worker profession, elevate the work of its members, and nurture partnerships that lead to healthier communities. We envision a world in which community health workers are empowered as agents of change for healthier communities. ICHWA is guided by the following values: Community—We believe in and support the autonomy and resiliency of the communities we serve. Collaboration—We recognize the important role each of us has in improving the health and wellbeing of all Idahoans; we work together with our community partners. Social Justice—We work to foster equitable access to quality healthcare and other resources, and reduce disparity for all Idahoans, especially those most vulnerable. Excellence—We strive to do our best in every initiative we engage in, using evidence-based best practice and each other’s innovative ideas. Empowerment—We strive to empower each other and all those we serve. Trust—We believe in goodness of intentions and trust our community partners. We commit to act with integrity. We have four principal areas of focus for programming and operations: Professional Development and Training Public Awareness and Information Collaboration with Other Organizations for Healthier Communities State Policy Monitoring and Advocacy
