Shoutout to the Jesse Tree Board for always making time in their busy schedules to put their skills to work for the Jesse Tree mission! Last week, we gathered at Water Bear Bar to write thank-you cards to everyone who supported us during Idaho Gives. We had a great time connecting and can't wait to do more this year🤩

Help support Jesse Tree as we compete on Nonprofit MVP to raise money to continue supporting families in the Treasure Valley! $25,000 can keep over 12 families in their homes and prevent our neighbors from experiencing the traumatic effects of eviction. If you can't attend the filming, stay tuned on our socials, where we'll be posting more ways to get involved👀 For more info, visit https://lnkd.in/es7hF2jf.

At today's State of the City, the City of Boise announced a generous pledge of $250,000 towards supporting Jesse Tree, matching a $250,000 donation by Duane and Lori Stueckle, to serve Boise residents with emergency rental assistance. The collaborative initiative between the City of Boise and the Stueckle family underscores a shared commitment to stopping homelessness before it starts in the Treasure Valley community. The combined pledge of $500,000 will enable Jesse Tree to support 250 additional families facing housing crises over two years at $2,000 per family. This fund will allow us to increase our service level to provide at least 35% of all tenants in Boise during an eviction with emergency rental assistance, targeting those who are at the highest risk of homelessness. The fund will start in October of this year. Jesse Tree will still be supporting at least 1,000 additional families across the Treasure Valley as well each year - mostly thanks to donations from members of the community. Thank you to our loyal supporters, Duane and Lori, Mayor McLean, and the City of Boise for making this a reality, and believing in our mission to keep people housed!

After going through a chaotic and complicated divorce, Johnny experienced some financial setbacks. His wages were garnished for child support even though he was the primary parent for Millie. The toll that had taken on his finances caused him to fall behind on rent, and he received an Eviction Summons. We were able to mediate an agreement between him and his landlord to get the late fees dropped and form a payment plan. Johnny is currently fighting to get his wages back to b e able to provide for Millie sustainably.

After Rosa's household got sick with various types of the flu and COVID, both Liz and her granddaughters were hospitalized. They were at risk of falling into homelessness due to medical debt. During her eviction court hearing, Rosa was connected with Jesse Tree and assigned a personal case manager. Jesse Tree was able to mediate an agreement with Rosa's landlord and got her owed balance to zero. Today, the girls have a housing stability plan. Thanks to our case management and support, Rosa and her family are planning for their futures more than they ever could.
