Updates

  • Join us in celebrating Brandon Webber’s recent promotion to Goodwill Retail Director! He is now overseeing the Goodwill retail stores in South Central Montana and Eastern Idaho. Brandon started his long career in thrift at the Goodwill of the Columbia in Washington State. He joined Easterseals-Goodwill in 2017 as the manager of the Boise Goodwill store in Idaho. He then stepped into the manager role to open the new Idaho Falls Goodwill in 2018. Brandon has been instrumental in streamlining processes and optimizing results, not just in his own store but across the organization. He has developed and expanded partnerships in the community to provide second chance employment opportunities. Congratulations Brandon, on your new leadership role!

  • Congratulations to our most recent graduate of the Goodwill Manager in Training program! Brenon Whitaker completed an intensive three-month training program followed by in-store experience at our Millcreek Goodwill in Utah. There he gained valuable skills in production, merchandising, inventory management, administration and human resources needed for a manager position. As a successful Manager in Training graduate, Brenon demonstrated curiosity about how a thrift business works, a desire to develop his leadership skills, and commitment to our nonprofit mission, team members, and customers we serve. Great job, Brenon!

  • Twenty years ago, Rodney was diagnosed with Cone Rod Dystrophy—a degenerative disease that causes the retina to deteriorate to the point of blindness. There is currently no treatment or cure for this disease. By age 35 he could no longer drive or operate heavy equipment, ending his construction career. Then, Rodney found Goodwill. The Meridian Goodwill store in Idaho has given him an opportunity to work and build leadership skills. He is currently working as a production associate and credits the management team with his success. “Management is great here. They understand my situation and still give me opportunities. It is teamwork all the time. Brenda is a great manager. She is easy to talk to and is always there for anything that I need,” says Rodney. Learn more about Rodney and the opportunities he has found at Goodwill at www.esgw.org/meet-rodney. #GoodwillWeek

She loved working with students and has leaned on those skills to thrive in her new role. “The most rewarding part of my job is being part of the complete process from start to finish, “says Rachel. “I help find great team members for the Goodwill stores by removing barriers for job applicants.” We are so lucky to have you on the Easterseals-Goodwill team!

  • This week, Easterseals-Goodwill joined leaders and supporters from across the Goodwill Industries International and Easterseals networks on Capitol Hill to advocate for the people we serve. Our President/CEO, Mark Sherman, and our Public Policy Officer, Mitch Tropila met with elected officials and their staff from our four-state region to discuss workforce development, universal charitable deduction, and other issues critical to our communities. They met with Sen Tester (pictured below), Sen Daines, and Rep Zinke (pictured below) from Montana; Sen Crapo and Sen Risch from Idaho; and Sen Romney, Rep Moore, and Rep Owens from Utah. It was an honor to engage in these meaningful conversations aimed at fostering positive change! Kendra E. Davenport, MPL, Easterseals President/CEO (pictured below) Steven C.
